Synopsis

Sentenced to Be a Hero: The Prison Records of Penal Hero Unit 9004 is a dark fantasy that completely flips the usual “hero saves the world” idea. In this world, becoming a Hero is actually the harshest punishment for criminals. People sentenced to heroism are forced to fight endless battles against monstrous demonic forces on the front lines. Death isn’t even an escape — if they die, they are resurrected and thrown back into war again and again. The story follows Xylo Forbartz, a former Holy Knight commander who was condemned after killing a goddess. But he discovers he may have been framed to hide dangerous truths. While leading Penal Hero Unit 9004, he encounters the sword goddess Teoritta and reluctantly forms a pact with her. Together they fight terrifying enemies while Xylo searches for revenge and uncovers conspiracies hidden behind the kingdom’s system.
